The Columbia SILVER RIDGE BALL CAP  is the perfect solution for warm summer days when effective protection from the sun's rays is required. The visor profile protects the eyes well, and Omni-Shade™ technology protects the head from harmful UV radiation. Omni-Shade sun protection technology helps protect your skin from harmful UV radiation, so you can spend more carefree hours in the sun.

Omni-Shade Columbia Sportswear garments protect against harmful radiation by blocking the sun's dangerous rays. Omni-Shade blocks ultraviolet A and B rays (UVA and UVB), helping to prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage through dense weave construction, UV reflectors and UV absorbing technology.

This is not the case with SPF (Sun Protection Factor), a measure of the reduction in sunburn due to the use of a filter, which does not indicate any protection against UVB rays. UVB rays are much more harmful than UVA and reach us even on cloudy days. Omni-Shade technology provides protection against both UVB and UVA radiation.

Like a sunscreen, Omni-Shade technology has a specific number that indicates the level of sun protection. Unlike a sunscreen, Omni-Shade technology does not wear out. The level of safety increases with a higher Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF), and there are several levels of Omni-Shade protection: UPF 15, UPF 30, UPF 40, and UPF 50+. It's similar to sunscreen, but you don't have to reapply it.

Made of slightly elastic material, which, in combination with the Velcro adjustment at the back, allows for an optimal fit to the head. Additionally, thanks to  the Omni-Shield technology  used by Columbia,   the cap soaks slower and is harder to get dirty, which is especially useful during long summer trips.
